Lotus at the Motor Show
Omnis Exhibitions, approached Essential to respond to a lighting brief for the Lotus stand at the British International Motor Show. As part of the response Essential invited Omnis, along with members of the Lotus Team, to bring an example car to the Essential facility in South West London, to show the client the most elegant and appropriate way to light a car of this type, to pick out its features and curves rather than just blast it with a discharge par, losing all definition to its shape - something critical with a car such as the Lotus.

The main focus of the stand was the launch car - the Evora, along with the rest of the Lotus range; Elise, Exige and Europa. A critical part of the brief was to make the reveal car - The Evora stand out from the rest of the models on the stand, and be eye catching without losing the defining essence of the car - its styling. This was achieved by using 6 of Essential's brand new VL 3500 wash lights.

"These units give the flexibility I needed to create the right brightness combined with a really nice colour mix that, with a gentle undulation of the lamps allowed me to give the Evora a kinetic feel, making the most of all of its curves and details" Commented designer Jon Bromley.

The remainder of the stand was lit with generic fixtures corrected to daylight, giving flexibility in the brightness of the different sources, this gave the stand a really nice atmosphere, clear, elegant, gentle on the eye.
